Creative Growth
From the Ground UP
About Root to Bloom
A space where growth is gentle, expressive, messy, magical—and real.
Root to Bloom was born from the belief that healing, connection, and creativity belong together. Whether you’re a mother navigating the tension of adolescence, a girl trying to find her voice, or a woman reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been buried… this is your space.
Created by Dr. Kimberley Palmiotto, as an extension of Nurturing Girls-
Root to Bloom blends therapeutic insight, expressive arts, and soul-aligned community to help you and your daughter grow together (without losing yourselves).

Why We Are Unique
At Root to Bloom, we do things differently. We blend creative expression and expressive arts with soul-aligned support in a way that’s approachable, meaningful, and gently transformative. Whether you come for a simple crafting workshop or a deep healing experience, you’ll find something real, grounded, and nurturing here.
We’re a hybrid space: part creative studio, part healing container
From light-hearted DIY craft nights to deeply reflective workshops, we offer a range of experiences that meet you exactly where you are—whether you’re here to play, process, or just breathe.
We combine expressive arts with emotional insight and growth
Whether we are painting, stitching, cooking, or journaling, every creative activity is designed to open up self-awareness and emotional growth. We use the arts as a pathway to empowerment and healing
We blend psychology with a little "woo"
Rooted in child development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care—but layered with intuition, energy awareness, nervous system healing, and symbolic practices like ritual and moon cycles. We believe in science and soul.
We create spaces for generational healing
With offerings for moms, daughters, and both together, our work acknowledges that growth is often relational. We gently explore the mother-daughter dynamic and help you rewrite inherited patterns—one creative moment at a time.
We make space for safety, softness, and self-discovery
No perfection, performance, or pressure here. Just warm light, soft energy, welcoming vibes, and safe space to reconnect with yourself, your daughter, or the parts of you that have been quietly waiting to bloom.
About Dr. Kim
Kimberley Palmiotto, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC- MD, CA)
Diplomate - American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP)
Certified Trauma-Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT)
Credentialed School Psychologist (MD, CA, NC)
I’ve spent almost three decades walking alongside women, girls, and families through the most tender, tangled, and transformational chapters of life.
I’m a therapist, educator, art therapist, and creative guide with a deep background in clinical counseling, school psychology, and trauma-informed care. I’ve worked in both public and private school systems, supported families in clinical settings, and held space for hundreds of mothers and daughters navigating everything from adolescence to anxiety...social challenges to learning difficulties...disconnection to healing.
My work is rooted in evidence-based psychology—family systems, trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and developmental theory—but I also believe in the power of intuition, storytelling, ritual, and art. As a trained art therapist, I have woven together expressive arts therapy, nervous system awareness, and deep listening into so many of the offerings I create.
I started Root to Bloom and Nurturing Girls because even with all my training, I wasn’t prepared for the emotional depth of raising four daughters. I’ve lived the mother-daughter roller coaster—and I’ve learned that healing and learning about ourselves happens in slow, creative, embodied ways. It happens when we sit together, create something with our hands, and say things we didn’t even know we were holding.
This is the space I needed—and now I offer it to you.
